Make sure that you understand, this is not an endorsement or condemnation of religion by me. This is about government overstepping it's bounds and destroying the principles of freedom and destroying the US Constitution. NO government has the right to supersede the natural rights of the PEOPLE to assemble for peaceful purposes, especially in their homes. I will concede that if the number of participants is too large for the home, then a suitable venue should be sought for the assembly.
As you may or may not know, if you wish to exercise your right to assemble, in say a Tea Party rally, you must GET PERMISSION FROM THE GOVERNMENT having authority over the area you wish to use. Sounds like another abuse of the First Amendment to me.

stuck accelerators
http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2010/03/10/20100310runaway-toyota-prius-10.html
enough America
I am tired of hearing about this horrible problem with Toyota cars. Stuck accelerators! Give me a break. PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL! Problem solved.
The incident in California, where the 61 year old driver put the life of a highway patrolman in danger because the driver "thought his car would flip if he put it in neutral", is indicative of the lack of knowledge and ability to think for themselves of allot of people in this country. HE called 911, like someone at the other end of the phone could help him! (The 24 year old operator did tell him to put the car in neutral.) Stop expecting big brother to take care of you.
THINK AND ACT FOR YOURSELF! BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF!
How about the car dealer who had an accelerator stick on his vehicle several years ago who threw his young son out of the vehicle then jumped out himself! GIVE ME A BREAK!
I just learned of an incident where an acquaintance of mine stopped to help a stranded woman on an interstate highway. She told him her accelerator stuck (don't know what brand of automobile), she put the transmission in neutral and pulled to the side of the road. WOW!
Maybe this 61 year old is making up this incident for the attention, or have an excuse to sue Toyota.

Letter to the Editor, EV Tribune
December 14, 2009
In response to George William’s letter in the Dec 13th edition, here are some ideas for folks to conduct some fact finding of their own. His letter only seems to bash those who report what he doesn’t believe in.
I know the climate “change” folks, led by AL Gore, believe the science is in and the discussion is over. Why won’t Mr. Gore debate anyone on this? How about the articles showing the number of scientist who disagree?
Google the following: scientist against global warming theory
Here is a link to 500 Peer-Reviewed Papers Supporting Skepticism of "Man-Made" Global Warming
http://www.populartechnology.net/2009/10/peer-reviewed-papers-supporting.html
Even the founder of the Weather Channel disagrees with man made global warming. (Oops, climate change, I forgot the name was changed; hmmm, makes you wonder) Here’s the link:
http://icecap.us/index.php/go/joes-blog/comments_about_global_warming/
Professor John Lott has a good list of articles you can review. http://johnrlott.blogspot.com/search/label/GlobalWarming
Also Google: Time magazine ice age
(YES, in 1974 there was a evidence about the coming mini ICE AGE!)
The earth’s climate is cyclic. Areas have years of drought followed by years of normal rain fall followed by ………. You get the idea.

The Cost is Freedom I
I made a couple of changes
December 12, 2009
The current hot topic in our nation is the “health care debate”. Let’s look beyond the talking points on this subject and look at the true meaning of this and other government programs.
The real issue is the massive expansion of the Federal (central) government. The greater the growth (expansion), the greater is the lose, or more accurately, the theft of our individual freedom! This taking, and in some cases, surrendering of our freedoms has been in the works for many decades but accelerated to Mach 2 during the last administration and has hit light speed under the current congress and administration. Let’s take a quick peek at a couple of the recent failed programs.
The $787B stimulus plan is reported to have saved or created about 650,000 jobs. That is over $1.2 MILLION per job! That’s government efficiency for you! The job numbers are easy to claim, but hard to prove. An across the board tax cut would have allowed business to create REAL jobs and actually stimulating the economy.
Cash for Clunkers. This was concocted to help the US automakers (the unconstitutionally government owned GM and Chrysler) increase sales. Most of the sales went to Toyota. Have you seen the videos of the many fine cars destroyed by this program? (Here is one example; you can check it out on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waj2KrKYTZo )
I am leery of a government that sees fit to destroy; this is an indicator that governments only consume, they do not create. And who was hurt most by this program? The folks who need dependable transportation and cannot afford to buy new vehicles. The very people the liberals/progressives allege to champion!
I could go on, but back to health care. We need true free market competition and fair taxing of benefits to have real health care reform. http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul339.html
The ridiculous amount of regulation that restricts our ability to choose the health care that meets our individual/family needs has been around and growing for the past 40 years or so. What is the cause of this and other government programs. The lobbyist? NO! The corporations? NO! It is the politicians who accept “campaign contributions” and other perks from the lobbyist/corporations and pass laws and alter the tax code to benefit the politicians’ donors. They no longer care about what WE THE PEOPLE have to say. (Although this is true for many of the AZ congressional delegation, it is not true of all politicians; there are a few honest ones.)
Even if the bill is passed without a single payer option, don’t buy into it. The government hates competition and can easily regulate to kill any competition! (Remember, they can rewrite the bill at 3:00 AM!) Think about the voucher program in Washington DC. The students who received vouchers and attended private schools were far more successful than their counterparts in the government (public) schools. The government didn’t like this competition and canceled the voucher program. Do you think heath care or any other government program/operation will be different? I say NO!
The Federal government has limited powers defined by the US Constitution and it does NOT include health care, business ownership or bailouts. Our elected officials took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, yet they knowingly violate that oath on a regular basis.
The dollar amount of debt we are passing on to future generations can never be repaid. Why? The current and future politicians will only add more entitlement/spending programs adding to the mammoth debt, unless we replace these politicians with (as Samuel Adams said) virtuous leaders.
Now, let’s look at what you and I owe now. The US debt now stands at about 12 Trillion ( a trillion is one million million!) That means EVERY US Citizens’ share is approximately $39,000! Here is a link. http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/
This year the US deficit hit approximately $1.4 trillion, up about $1 trillion from 2008’s $486 Billion (1000 million). Per US Citizen? About $4500 each.
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE5966HC20091007
That means our US Government has put all of us in debt for about $43,500 EACH. I don’t have that much extra cash, do you?
But wait, there’s more! Let’s add in the cost of “healthcare reform”. Estimates I have seen are between $1,000,000,000,000 (that’s trillion) and $2.5 trillion over 10 years. It would also cut $500 billion from Medicare. Your and my share? Between $3000 and $8000. Now, add that to the total from above. http://www.pressregister.com/articles/2009/12/09/news/doc4b1e764685e6b987140315.txt
WE THE PEOPLE are the only protection the US Constitution has. It is time we step up, cut the fat and find leaders who will take the tough steps needed to return us to Liberty, individual freedom, opportunity and prosperity.
The real cost of this explosive expansion of government is nothing less than FREEDOM!

Lobbyist
July 6, 2009
LOBBYIST
While having my morning cup of joe, for some reason the uproar over lobbyist came to mind.
The idea that special interest, through their lobbyist, would try to influence our representatives and senators has received much attention in the media. There is a loud cry to stop this activity; by lobbyist, of course!
But are lobbyists necessarily bad? In general, I think not. If the lobbyist is there trying to insure that our basic, natural human rights are maintained, then they are not the evil creature displayed in the media
The means to stop illegal activity already exist. First and foremost is the lawmaker’s moral code which will not allow him to be influenced by accepting special favor. If the lobbyist offers the lawmaker special favor, then perhaps the lobbyist are guilty of bribery and should be prosecuted accordingly.
More importantly are the consequences faced by the lawmaker who accepts special favor. They too are guilty of criminal activity and should at the very least be removed from office.
That’s where we the people come in. That is our power. Criminal activity or even immoral activity by our elected officials should never be rewarded with reelection.
Where do we draw the line? Is a business lunch to discuss civil rights that is paid for by the lobbyist worthy of disgrace? Maybe not if it is at the local restaurant. But what if it includes a private jet ride to have lunch in Maui? The best option is for everyone to maintain high principles, to pay for their own way and avoid ANY perception of misdeed.
