Letter to the Editor, EV Tribune

December 14, 2009

In response to George William’s letter in the Dec 13th edition, here are some ideas for folks to conduct some fact finding of their own. His letter only seems to bash those who report what he doesn’t believe in.

I know the climate “change” folks, led by AL Gore, believe the science is in and the discussion is over. Why won’t Mr. Gore debate anyone on this? How about the articles showing the number of scientist who disagree?

Google the following: scientist against global warming theory

Here is a link to 500 Peer-Reviewed Papers Supporting Skepticism of "Man-Made" Global Warming
http://www.populartechnology.net/2009/10/peer-reviewed-papers-supporting.html

Even the founder of the Weather Channel disagrees with man made global warming. (Oops, climate change, I forgot the name was changed; hmmm, makes you wonder) Here’s the link:

Professor John Lott has a good list of articles you can review. http://johnrlott.blogspot.com/search/label/GlobalWarming

Also Google: Time magazine ice age
(YES, in 1974 there was a evidence about the coming mini ICE AGE!)

The earth’s climate is cyclic. Areas have years of drought followed by years of normal rain fall followed by ………. You get the idea.

The Cost is Freedom I

I made a couple of changes

December 12, 2009

The current hot topic in our nation is the “health care debate”. Let’s look beyond the talking points on this subject and look at the true meaning of this and other government programs.

The real issue is the massive expansion of the Federal (central) government. The greater the growth (expansion), the greater is the lose, or more accurately, the theft of our individual freedom! This taking, and in some cases, surrendering of our freedoms has been in the works for many decades but accelerated to Mach 2 during the last administration and has hit light speed under the current congress and administration. Let’s take a quick peek at a couple of the recent failed programs.

The $787B stimulus plan is reported to have saved or created about 650,000 jobs. That is over $1.2 MILLION per job! That’s government efficiency for you! The job numbers are easy to claim, but hard to prove. An across the board tax cut would have allowed business to create REAL jobs and actually stimulating the economy.

Cash for Clunkers. This was concocted to help the US automakers (the unconstitutionally government owned GM and Chrysler) increase sales. Most of the sales went to Toyota. Have you seen the videos of the many fine cars destroyed by this program? (Here is one example; you can check it out on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waj2KrKYTZo )
I am leery of a government that sees fit to destroy; this is an indicator that governments only consume, they do not create. And who was hurt most by this program? The folks who need dependable transportation and cannot afford to buy new vehicles. The very people the liberals/progressives allege to champion!

I could go on, but back to health care. We need true free market competition and fair taxing of benefits to have real health care reform. http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul339.html
The ridiculous amount of regulation that restricts our ability to choose the health care that meets our individual/family needs has been around and growing for the past 40 years or so. What is the cause of this and other government programs. The lobbyist? NO! The corporations? NO! It is the politicians who accept “campaign contributions” and other perks from the lobbyist/corporations and pass laws and alter the tax code to benefit the politicians’ donors. They no longer care about what WE THE PEOPLE have to say. (Although this is true for many of the AZ congressional delegation, it is not true of all politicians; there are a few honest ones.)

Even if the bill is passed without a single payer option, don’t buy into it. The government hates competition and can easily regulate to kill any competition! (Remember, they can rewrite the bill at 3:00 AM!) Think about the voucher program in Washington DC. The students who received vouchers and attended private schools were far more successful than their counterparts in the government (public) schools. The government didn’t like this competition and canceled the voucher program. Do you think heath care or any other government program/operation will be different? I say NO!

The Federal government has limited powers defined by the US Constitution and it does NOT include health care, business ownership or bailouts. Our elected officials took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, yet they knowingly violate that oath on a regular basis.

The dollar amount of debt we are passing on to future generations can never be repaid. Why? The current and future politicians will only add more entitlement/spending programs adding to the mammoth debt, unless we replace these politicians with (as Samuel Adams said) virtuous leaders.

Now, let’s look at what you and I owe now. The US debt now stands at about 12 Trillion ( a trillion is one million million!) That means EVERY US Citizens’ share is approximately $39,000! Here is a link. http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/

This year the US deficit hit approximately $1.4 trillion, up about $1 trillion from 2008’s $486 Billion (1000 million). Per US Citizen? About $4500 each.
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE5966HC20091007
That means our US Government has put all of us in debt for about $43,500 EACH. I don’t have that much extra cash, do you?

But wait, there’s more! Let’s add in the cost of “healthcare reform”. Estimates I have seen are between $1,000,000,000,000 (that’s trillion) and $2.5 trillion over 10 years. It would also cut $500 billion from Medicare. Your and my share? Between $3000 and $8000. Now, add that to the total from above. http://www.pressregister.com/articles/2009/12/09/news/doc4b1e764685e6b987140315.txt

WE THE PEOPLE are the only protection the US Constitution has. It is time we step up, cut the fat and find leaders who will take the tough steps needed to return us to Liberty, individual freedom, opportunity and prosperity.

The real cost of this explosive expansion of government is nothing less than FREEDOM!

Profound Statement

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."* *Adrian Rogers, 1931*

Healthcare problem solved

Obama has the solution to the “healthcare” crisis

Let us review:

During WWII the government froze wages (mistake one, messing with the labor market) the resourceful capitalist needed workers so they provided health care to attract those workers.

In the 1970’s, the government mandated managed health care (mistake two) and started regulating based on special interest buying off congressmen

The current administration states, out loud, “never let a crisis go to waste”

The government attempts to take over health care after being successfull at socializing other markets. (automobile and banking come to mind for starters)

The solution:

This is not partisan POLITICS except that THE GOVERNMENT CREATED THE MESS, NOW GOVERNMENT, GET OUT OF THE WAY AND LET THE FREE MARKET CLEAN UP THE MESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is only one attack on our constitution.

The Hidden Cost of Taxation

The Hidden Cost of Taxation

This article shows the cost of taxation. For every dollar (private property) the government takes, it cost us $.39. So $100.00 of tax really cost $139.00.

This does not include the cost of complying with the massive tax code.

A couple of comments

President Obama is sounding more like a dictator, giving congress a deadline. Everything with him and the politicians that want this rammed down our throats is a crisis that cannot even be given time to review, debate or read. The Federal government needs to get OUT of helath care and let the market work.

You will be forced to have insurance. What is not stated here is that YOU will be fined (TAXED) if you do not have insurance. $1000.00 month? Will it be more/less? You will be required to prove to the IRS that you had coverage.

We need to replace the politicians in DC with people who are dedicated to the Constitution, small Federal (central) government, individual and state sovergienty which will return us to real freedom!

Health care

At Least They Have Health Care
That’s Hussein’s camel’s nose you feel, slipping under your hospital gown.

By David Kahane

Back before the fall of the Berlin Wall and the sudden, mysterious and probably Dick Cheney–induced collapse of our beloved Soviet Union, my father, the sainted “Che” Kahane, used to take me and Uncle Joe with him on vacation behind the so-called “Iron Curtain.” Most of the time we would go to Lake Balaton in Hungary, to summer alongside the plucky, banana- and porn-hunting East Germans, but we also hit the other garden spots, including the Polish plains, the Romanian hills, the Bulgarian seashore, and the steppes of Central Asia.

What fun we had: Che would talk Party philosophy and the plot twists of Dynasty with the local commissars while Uncle Joe would entertain the young teen girls with his tales of the Spanish Civil War, not that he actually fought in it. The closest he ever got to the Lincoln Brigade was a couple of protest songs that he dashed off and sent to Billie Holiday, which she never recorded.

To see the splendor that was the now-vanished Communist world through the eyes of a child was an exhilaratingly empathetic experience: the sludge lakes, poisoned with mercury; the barren fields, unplowed and unsown because the tractor factory didn’t meet its production quota; the open strip-mining pits; and the soot-filled skies, especially in the mornings and the evenings, with their flame-red sunsets. If Hell were Heaven, it was like approaching the throne of Gaia Herself.

What bothered me even more, though, was how the people lived. Every east-bloc city was the same: an inner core, much of it still destroyed by the heroic Soviet troops who liberated the place, surrounded by rings and rings of substandard apartment buildings, either white or slate-gray, wherein were warehoused the bulk of the proletariat. We, of course, never got near them, since we always stayed in various hotels built for Party big shots and visiting fellow travelers, but I could see at a glance that they looked suspiciously like the evil Halliburton-designed “housing projects” that my dad and his brother were always railing against back in America — things that made my own native Al Smith Houses on the Lower East Side look like Buckingham Palace.

“At least they have health care,” was how Che always responded to any of my uninformed, childish criticisms of the heroic future we were building together.

You see, for us on the left, there is absolutely nothing more important than health care. Having long since cast off the shackles of the superstition known as “organized religion,” we need something to believe in, and health care is our principal article of faith. For us, it simply will not do to live in a world that is nasty, brutish, and short; why, I personally know people who visit their doctors at least once a month, and not just for plastic surgery, either. The slightest sniffle sends them sprinting to Doc Feiertag because, after all, it might be swine flu. A little heartburn might be a heart attack. And on this filthy, polluted planet, cancer is always ready to strike, no matter how green you are. Everybody knows that when it comes to your health, you can’t be too careful, and that if you’ve got your health you’ve got everything except a three-picture deal at Fox Atomic.

Luckily, over the past 60 years or so, we’ve managed to convince the once sturdy and stoic American people that illness is not to be borne “manfully” or uncomplainingly, and that constantly worrying, 24/7, about your health is not a sign of hypochondria or outright insanity. Why, to hear us tell it via our stooges in the media and out here in Hollywoodland, the entire country is perpetually on the brink of a financially ruinous physical meltdown, just a pack of cigarettes, a pre-existing condition, a bag of Cheez Doodles, and a closed emergency room away from debilitation, despair, dementia, and death.

Because we’re not kidding about that “got everything” part. We understand that if government can control each aspect of the human life cycle, from insemination to gestation to a woman’s right to choose to final destination (whichever comes first), it’s game, set, and match for the antiquated notions of “individual liberties.” Once His Serene Highness, the Emperor Barack Hussein Obama II, Protector of the Holy Cities of Honolulu and Chicago, and Czar of all the Fussers, gets his camel’s nose under your hospital gown, then nothing you ever do in your life will go unregulated. We are, after all, the people who convinced you that second-hand smoke was nearly instantly lethal, that the ingestion of trans-fats resulted in immediate obesity, and that a few drops of alcohol transformed you into a raging maniac behind the wheel. Like Bill O’Reilly, we’re looking out for you.

In other words, despite the stimulus, despite cap-and-trade and the other Obama five-year plans, we simply don’t think Big Government is big enough yet. And since you cannot put a price tag on your health, it doesn’t really matter what it eventually “costs” — only a conservative would be hard-hearted enough to worry about money when someone’s health is on the line. As BHO II says of the trillion-dollar health-care initiative he’s currently try to ram through Congress, it’s urgent! And indisputable! Message: He cares. Because, for us, death is simply not an option, unless of course it’s your death we’re talking about, in which case a bureaucrat will decide that.

I mean, it’s not like you’re a member of Congress or anything. “Quality care shouldn't depend on your financial resources, or the type of job you have, or the medical condition you face,” writes ultra-rich Ted Kennedy in the current Newsweek. No, and why should it? Private enterprise is so 2008. “Every American should be able to get the same treatment that U.S. senators are entitled to.” Yes, and nothing’s too good for our senators! They’re entitled! And if you think you’re actually going to get the same level of care a U.S. senator is entitled to, well, there’s a bridge down by the Al Smith Houses that I can sell you.

Suffering from brain cancer and on the verge of his final ave atque vale, Senator Kennedy is owed nothing less than the nationalization of health care in return for his selfless public service since that day 40 years ago he left Mary Jo Kopechne to drown off Chappaquiddick Island while he huddled with his advisers. The trauma he suffered that day must be unimaginable, but at least he has health care, even if she doesn’t.

Food for Thought

545 vs. 300,000,000 (Republicans & Democrats Alike - No One Is Blameless)

EVERY CITIZEN NEEDS TO READ THIS AND THINK ABOUT WHAT THIS JOURNALIST HAS WRITTEN IN THIS MESSAGE. READ IT AND THEN REALLY THINK ABOUT OUR CURRENT POLITICAL DEBACLE.

Charley Reese has been a journalist for 49 years.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

545 PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred Senators, 435 Congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices -- 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party. What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.

Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red ...

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ .

If they do not receive Social Security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power..

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper.

What you do with this article now that you have read it is up to you, though you have several choices:

1. You can send this to everyone in your address book and hope "they" do something about it.
2. You can agree to "vote against" everyone that is currently in office, knowing that the process will take several years.
3. You can decide to "run for office" yourself and agree to do the job properly.
4. Lastly, you can sit back and do nothing or re-elect the current bunch of crooks and charlatans who continue to destroy this great country as they laugh all the way to the bank!!!

LOBBYIST

While having my morning cup of joe, for some reason the uproar over lobbyist came to mind.

The idea that special interest, through their lobbyist, would try to influence our representatives and senators has received much attention in the media. There is a loud cry to stop this activity; by lobbyist, of course!

But are lobbyists necessarily bad? In general, I think not. If the lobbyist is there trying to insure that our basic, natural human rights are maintained, then they are not the evil creature displayed in the media

The means to stop illegal activity already exist. First and foremost is the lawmaker’s moral code which will not allow him to be influenced by accepting special favor. If the lobbyist offers the lawmaker special favor, then perhaps the lobbyist are guilty of bribery and should be prosecuted accordingly.

More importantly are the consequences faced by the lawmaker who accepts special favor. They too are guilty of criminal activity and should at the very least be removed from office.

That’s where we the people come in. That is our power. Criminal activity or even immoral activity by our elected officials should never be rewarded with reelection.

Where do we draw the line? Is a business lunch to discuss civil rights that is paid for by the lobbyist worthy of disgrace? Maybe not if it is at the local restaurant. But what if it includes a private jet ride to have lunch in Maui? The best option is for everyone to maintain high principles, to pay for their own way and avoid ANY perception of misdeed.

Business–Government Collusion (click here)

All companies must be able to stand on their own. Success should not be guaranteed by the government, but should only be atained by providing products and services in a free market. NO company is too big to fail.. The opportunity for corporate and individual success must also come with the opportunity for failure.

The consumer, not the government, should be the judge of this success or failure by purchasing, or not, the products and services of each company.

Quotes from Thomas Jefferson

"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion.
The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is
wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts
they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions,
it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ...
And what country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not
warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of
resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as
to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost
in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from
time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It is its natural manure."

Thomas Jefferson, letter to Shelton Gilliam, June 19, 1808

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere.
Thomas Jefferson, letter to Abigail Adams, February 22, 1787

To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.

I submitted this to a couple of local papers. I haven't seen it published and have not received any reply; but then again, I really don't expect to.

What does the future look like with Cap and Trade?
What is the cost?

As President Obama said, “Utility rates will necessarily skyrocket”. Scary.

One report I saw said the average family will see $1500.00 a year increase in utility bills. And those of us in Arizona pay more than the average. This is just what we need in these tough economic times.

Then there is gasoline, going up 74% according to one report, 28 to 68 cents according to another. Not only ours, but the fuel for the trucks bringing our food to the store, the gas to the pump and everything else we use. Prices go way up and are passed along to us.

These numbers might be higher or lower, nobody knows. It is not only the direct cost we will pay, but the embedded cost as well.

Our basic necessities will consume our entire budget. Our lifestyle will be gone. No longer can we take the family to the lake for a great weekend of fun; can’t afford to drive there much less run the boat. (Can’t sell the boat though, no one else can afford to operate it either.)

Want to go golfing? That cart we use must be charged with the high priced electricity. Fly to Disney World with our kids? Ticket cost go up, a jet takes a lot of fuel. The hotel has to pay a lot more for their electricity and supplies so they must pass the cost on to us.

That is if any of these businesses are still operating. Many will have to close their doors, golf courses, airlines, theme parks, movie theaters and on and on. Entire industries, like general aviation could be gone. And of course this leads to more unemployment. The shift to so called green jobs will not be able to absorb all the newly unemployed workers.

Don’t forget that there are those in the federal government who want to control the thermostats in our homes. Is this the first step to that goal? And they will mandate the energy rating of your home. You won’t be able to sell YOUR house if a federal agency does not give you approval.

This is a huge expansion of government that takes or controls our personal property. (The largest taking of personal property is taxes and this is a huge tax). And right around the corner is the next huge tax, socialized medicine. When we lose our personal property or give the government any control, we lose our freedom.

What does the future look like?
What is the cost? FREEDOM!

Please get involved, contact our senators and tell them to vote NO on cap and trade.

Cap and trade will destroy us. When you can't afford to pay your utilities you won't be able to sell your house unless you meet the Federal government's requirements. This is but one more example of them taking and controlling your personal property.

Here's the video I was talking about...

THE HEGELIAN PRINCIPLE

THE HEGELIAN PRINCIPLE
Copyright 2000 By Ray Thomas

This is the "basic con" the power seekers use and is the basis for every other con. The "con" exposed herein that allows the power seekers to gain ever more power over us is very simple, and easy to understand after it is explained to you; From that time on, you are able to "read between the lines" in everything they do, and start being "an obstacle" to their plans instead of agreeing to your own enslavement. -Ray Thomas

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why is it that just now, when the heavy push is on to enact more and more restrictive laws against self-defense, children are taking guns in hand and murdering their classmates? Why hasn't it happened before? What is it about our society that makes people (not just children) go on killing sprees, then, in most cases, kill themselves in the end, and for small things? Why are people being murdered almost daily over such small things as "sticking their noses in the air" and ignoring their classmates? Since when has refusing to associate with people whose demeanor and way of life you do not like (and we're not talking about racism here) required a "death sentence?" Why does a man go to two different places and kill people because of some real or imagined slight? Why do two people who have an accident, instead of letting the insurance company handle it, start shooting each other.? How about that guy who purposely drove his car into several children, killing some? Oops. Forgot. That didn't involve a gun so the "anti-gun fanatics" aren't interested. But all those questions deserve an answer. Why, indeed, are these things happening, one after the other, -- just now?

Some people suspect a plot by the power seekers (liberals) to use such incidents as a lever to get more restrictive laws passed and have sponsored or caused these killings to whip up support for their new laws. Some even think these people who do these killings are brainwashed, a la "The Manchurian Candidate," where the Chinese Communists programmed a POW to kill a presidential candidate on verbal a signal he got over the phone to "activate" him after years as an "upstanding citizen." Others, such as I, believe that if you search the news morgues, you're going to find that such incidents have happened with some regularity for as long as anybody can remember. The reason it seems like it is happening with increasing regularity today is because it has been purposely highlighted by the mainstream news media at the behest of the power seekers (many of whom WORK in the media).

THE HEGELIAN PRINCIPLE: I've written before about the "Hegelian Principle," which the power seekers have been using with amazing success for a lot longer than I can remember to create support for their power grabs. It's a simple principle. It has only three steps:

Step one: CREATE A "PROBLEM": Create it or take one that does exist and build it up out of all proportion to its real importance;
Step Two: PUBLICIZE THE "PROBLEM": Make sure a story about this problem appears in the news media each and every day, in newspapers, news magazines, radio, and television. Hit it again and again in a "steady drumbeat" that soon has people who don't pay real attention to politics (which is the majority of them) clamoring for a "solution" to the problem;
Step Three: OFFER A "SOLUTION": A solution that takes away one or more of our rights and further undermines the constitutional protections we all are supposed to enjoy. One that involves higher taxes (to pay for this "solution," of course), and one we would not have allowed them to do without this previous conditioning of the public.
WORKS LIKE A "CHARM": They've been using this method for a long time now, and it's working for them. It has allowed them to "tighten the noose" on the American people to a point we wouldn't have believed even a few short years ago.

Another example of the use of the Hegelian Principle is the so-called "child protection crisis."

There is no child protection crisis. Child abuse has actually been going downin recent years, while "reports" of it have been rising exponentially. Children have suffered, but in many cases, from the neglect of the "child protectors" for the real cases while they pursue the false ones. By their own figures, 80% of all child abuse reports cannot be substantiated. Eighty percent!

There's a good reason for that: they've been "whipsawing" us for years (step two) about it until (step three)a sweeping child protection law was passed that created what we now call the "Good Samaritan Laws," which absolutely protect child protection workers and others who "report" child abuse from all legal repercussions, even if it can be proved that the "report" was given for a malicious reason. Then they told all the people who work with children such as teachers, medical personnel, school bus drivers, etc. that they were "mandated reporters." What that means is that if they see something that gives them the slightest suspicion of child abuse, they must report it or be subject to civil and criminal charges themselves. Even if they don't believe it. They must report it or take chances with their own futures.

In other words, if they "report," even if they don't really believe it is child abuse, they're completely safe. If they don't "report" and some bureaucrat later decided it was child abuse, they will not be safe. What would you do? Because of this lawyers are now advising their clients, not just in contested divorces but in all kinds of litigation, to call in an anonymous "report" of child abuse on one of those ubiquitous "Child Abuse Hotlines" the child protectors have set up all over the country. Then their opponent in the original case will be so busy defending against that, he/she will be less able to pursue the original action. The reason they do this is: there is no penalty to be paid for those calling in false child abuse reports.

Couple that with child protection workers who treat every case as if it were "solid gold," even if supported by nothing more than an anonymous phone call and pursue it to "the bitter end," going for "termination of parental rights and adoption even in cases where the parents are completely innocent, and you have a recipe for disaster. And a perfect opportunity for those "small-time dictators" to control others. They do this (the locals) because there is a financial incentive for it in addition to satisfying their own small-time quest for power. Their agency gets $4,000 a month for each child in foster care. They get lesser figures for each child they can take away from their parents, for however short a time. And if they can get the parent's rights terminated and put that child up for adoption, the agency gets $10,000. And, in many, I would even say, most cases, the individual worker who causes this to happen gets a cash (or merchandise) bonus. And they get to keep their jobs. Keeping their jobs is very important to a bureaucrat. And, with the possible exception of the "lower levels," (who get the bonuses) being in the child protection racket can be very lucrative. Some of the higher executives make $100,000 or more a year.

CURRICULUM CONTROL: The entire system of payments for "Results" was set up by the power seekers in the federal government for a single purpose: to take total control of what is taught our children away from parents and put it in the hands of the federal government. They know, just as did Hitler and Stalin and most other power seekers, that in order for their scams to work, they must get to the minds of the children at as early an age as possible and teach them the values of the power seekers, not of the parents. To teach them collectivism and "forced altruism," where money is taken from those who earn it and given to those who don't in return for the votes to keep the power seekers in office. This so they can continue to wield power and enjoy the "perks" such power gives them. Not to mention the "heady brew" of being able to control, absolutely, what others may do.

No, I don't think the power seekers are "setting up" these mass killings to whip up support for their laws against self-defense. But I do think they're doing an excellent job of taking advantage of those things that happen all the time, but are usually "local stories" until the "big boys" take them and build them up to the point where it seems that "violence is increasing and we've got to do something about it!" Never mind that they've got about 20,000 anti-gun laws already on the books, which they rarely (in selected circumstances only) enforce. They immediately go out and clamor for more laws as soon as news of yet another massacre hits the news. They don't enforce them (unless it suits their purpose) because gun laws that work don't help them in their quest for complete disarmament of the American population. And they must disarm us if they are to become our dictators.

THEY FEAR US: Even now, we're seeing evidence that the people running our governments fear us. Every government building is now an "armed camp" where you must submit to a "warrantless search" in order to enter when they demand your presence. As people grow ever more irritated with their ever-increasing interference in everybody's daily lives, they know that soon people who have guns are going to take serious offense to the things they do to us and they're deathly afraid of the result. So the drive to disarm us goes into "high gear" and every occurrence that can help their cause is "touted to the skies," while the ones that don't (such as the one in Atlanta a few days after the more famous Atlanta shootings, where the attacker was killed by people on the scene who had their own guns before he could kill anybody) are studiously ignored. If they succeed in this, you will indeed become a "slave" to the whims of any bureaucrat who wants to "lord it over you." They will make so many laws that there will be no way for you to live without breaking one.

CREATE CRIMINALS: Philosopher Ayn Rand said: "There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one "makes" them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted -- and you create a nation of law-breakers-and then you cash in on the guilt." (Ayn Rand, "Atlas Shrugged")

That's what they're doing, and you can make no mistake about it. If we continue to allow them to get away with it, they'll win. Then we'll all be slaves. You'll know it is happening when people like me either disappear or become subject to false charges that have nothing to do with what we're saying. We'll be the first to go - and you'll be next.

No He Can't

Fellow Americans,

Please know: I am black; I grew up in the segregated South. I did not vote for Barack Obama; I wrote in Ron Paul’s name as my choice for president. Most importantly, I am not race conscious. I do not require a black president to know that I am a person of worth, and that life is worth living. I do not require a black president to love the ideal of America.

I cannot join you in your celebration. I feel no elation. There is no smile on my face. I am not jumping with joy. There are no tears of triumph in my eyes. For such emotions and behavior to come from me, I would have to deny all that I know about the requirements of human flourishing and survival – all that I know about the history of the United States of America, all that I know about American race relations, and all that I know about Barack Obama as a politician. I would have to deny the nature of the "change" that Obama asserts has come to America. Most importantly, I would have to abnegate my certain understanding that you have chosen to sprint down the road to serfdom that we have been on for over a century. I would have to pretend that individual liberty has no value for the success of a human life. I would have to evade your rejection of the slender reed of capitalism on which your success and mine depend. I would have to think it somehow rational that 94 percent of the 12 million blacks in this country voted for a man because he looks like them (that blacks are permitted to play the race card), and that they were joined by self-declared "progressive" whites who voted for him because he doesn’t look like them. I would have to be wipe my mind clean of all that I know about the kind of people who have advised and taught Barack Obama and will fill posts in his administration – political intellectuals like my former colleagues at the Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

I would have to believe that "fairness" is equivalent of justice. I would have to believe that man who asks me to "go forward in a new spirit of service, in a new service of sacrifice" is speaking in my interest. I would have to accept the premise of a man that economic prosperity comes from the "bottom up," and who arrogantly believes that he can will it into existence by the use of government force. I would have to admire a man who thinks the standard of living of the masses can be improved by destroying the most productive and the generators of wealth.

Finally, Americans, I would have to erase from my consciousness the scene of 125,000 screaming, crying, cheering people in Grant Park, Chicago irrationally chanting "Yes We Can!" Finally, I would have to wipe all memory of all the times I have heard politicians, pundits, journalists, editorialists, bloggers and intellectuals declare that capitalism is dead – and no one, including especially Alan Greenspan, objected to their assumption that the particular version of the anti-capitalistic mentality that they want to replace with their own version of anti-capitalism is anything remotely equivalent to capitalism.

So you have made history, Americans. You and your children have elected a black man to the office of the president of the United States, the wounded giant of the world. The battle between John Wayne and Jane Fonda is over – and that Fonda won. Eugene McCarthy and George McGovern must be very happy men. Jimmie Carter, too. And the Kennedys have at last gotten their Kennedy look-a-like. The self-righteous welfare statists in the suburbs can feel warm moments of satisfaction for having elected a black person. So, toast yourselves: 60s countercultural radicals, 80s yuppies and 90s bourgeois bohemians. Toast yourselves, Black America. Shout your glee Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Duke, Stanford, and Berkeley. You have elected not an individual who is qualified to be president, but a black man who, like the pragmatist Franklin Roosevelt, promises to – Do Something! You now have someone who has picked up the baton of Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society. But you have also foolishly traded your freedom and mine – what little there is left – for the chance to feel good. There is nothing in me that can share your happy obliviousness.

Obama Is Said to Consider Preventive Detention Plan

WASHINGTON — President Obama told human rights advocates at the White House on Wednesday that he was mulling the need for a “preventive detention” system that would establish a legal basis for the United States to incarcerate terrorism suspects who are deemed a threat to national security but cannot be tried, two participants in the private session said.

tooo much government, comment to the next post

There is a danger to those who manufacture these mandated poison pills. This is worse for the people that make them than the sweat shops that make shoes, which received a lot of press for a while then fell off the radar.. We are being forced to have them in our homes as well.

Have you looked up the disposal policy in your community? Mine doesn't have facilities to dispose of this hazardous waste. They say to put it in the trash to be hauled to the land fill.

Have you read the EPA guidelines on what to do if a bulb breaks in your home (Got kids?) Scary stuff, more unintentional consequences of government intervention.

I wonder how much energy is used to produce these bulbs. Is there a real carbon savings?

One site I read stated they do not last as long as advertised. If you operate them like a normal bulb, they don't.

more on the flu

Worth reading in order to stay aware and informed Especially about Tamiflu, as always take the good infor, leave the other

Subject: Swine Flu
Importance: High

Greetings,

For all of my conspiracy loving friends here is my latest take on what is going on in the world. Call me nuts but it sure makes sense to me!!!

A couple of weeks ago Mexico was on the verge of collapse with drug lords doing battle at our southern border. Texas was talking about seceding from the US, and Tea parties were brewing all over the US. Obama heads to Mexico April 16-17 to have a little chat. April 24, seven days later, (which is the incubation period for the so called swine flu) andemic hysteria hits.
No more drug wars in Mexico because people are sick, dying, and the healthy ones are locked in their homes washing their hands and wearing masks.
The first US death reported is in Texas. I guess Texans will need "federal funds" to fight the flu battle.
The rest of the US has been advised to wash their hands and stay away from large crowds. (Protests and tea parties?) As many of you know, I've done a bit of virology research in the past and this whole swine thing doesn't add up. Wrong time of year. The H1N1 strain has many scientists scratching their heads.
Without going into a lot of scientific mumbo jumbo this might explain what we are seeing today.
http://www.virology.ws/2009/03/02/origin-of-current-influenza-h1n1-virus/

Why were the viral genomes of the 1977 H1N1 isolate and the 1950 virus so similar? If the H1N1 viruses had been replicating in an animal host for 27 years, far more genetic differences would have been identified. The authors suggested several possibilities, but only one is compelling:
It is possible that the 1950 H1N1 influenza virus was truly frozen in nature or elsewhere and that such a strain was only recently introduced into man.

The suggestion is clear:
the virus was frozen in a laboratory freezer since 1950, and was released, either by intent or accident, in 1977. This possibility has been denied by Chinese and Russian scientists, but remains to this day the only scientifically plausible explanation.

And Dr. Peter Petermann said today on a Promed post..
http://www.promedmail.org/pls/otn/f?p=2400:1000:
Thus, H1N1 from Mexico may be a swine flu virus strain of entirely American origin, possibly even of relatively ancient origin.

Now that we know a little about the virus how do we protect ourselves? This is how I'm going to fight H1N1.
I went to the health food store and bought Black Elderberry Syrup, a box of oscillococcinum, and some Kyolic garlic. The elderberry is an immune booster and virus killer, garlic is a natural antibiotic and does a number on viruses. Oscillo is the number one homeopathic flu remedy in Europe.

If you have those 3 things at your disposal you should be able to fight the flu without using government issued Tamaflu. Tamaflu, (chemical name...Oseltamivir) has serious side effects. They have all but banned the stuff in Japan because of the psychoneurological side effects. Why? Kids in Japan were killing themselves after taking Tamaflu. Here is more research for you....

The Food and Drug Administration also issued a MedWatch report, warning that people with the flu, particularly children, "may be at an increased risk of self-injury and confusion shortly after taking Tamiflu [oseltamivir] and should be closely monitored for signs of unusual behavior." If a patient taking oseltamivir displays any unusual behavior, a health care professional "should be contacted immediately," the FDA recommended.<<<

I hope you find this information helpful. Good luck to everyone and God help us all!

JEFFERSON OF HIS DAY

John Kennedy once said to a assembled group of scholars in the White House, "I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered at the White House - with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."

The quotes below could prove his point.

When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe Thomas Jefferson

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. Thomas Jefferson

It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world. Thomas Jefferson

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. Thomas Jefferson

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government. Thomas Jefferson

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. Thomas Jefferson

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. Thomas Jefferson

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. Thomas Jefferson

Very Interesting Quote: In light of the present financial crisis, it's interesting to read what Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:

Banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

"I&A (DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis) will be working with its state and local partners over the next several months to ascertain with greater regional specificity the rise in rightwing extremist activity in the United States, with a particular emphasis on the political, economic, and social factors that drive rightwing extremist radicalization."

Daylight savings

Wise old Indian reflects on Daylight Savings Time

"Only white man would believe you could cut off top of blanket, sew it to bottom of blanket, and have longer blanket."
I found this link about the Jew -Muslim issue.

Hurt Feelings

Once again some wimps (U.K.) have succumbed to the Muslims being offended and have ignored history.. Once again, history did not intend to offend them, that's their problem. But they know if they cry about it, wimps will back down and say the Holocaust did not happen. Aren't the Muslims in an eternal war with the Jews? I will see if I can find a reference for that.

I have been to a concentration camp in Germany, I have seen the ovens. I have seen the ashes of Jews and other humans in jars on a shelf. I saw the graves, including one mass grave of 1500 people, that were marked with headstones of each county and how many were buried there. (The U.S.A. had two fliers die in this camp).

The following is graphic.

"assault weapon" ban

Much of what I talk about will be the U.S. Constitution. The Second amendment is vital to the survival of our nation. It was put in the constitution to allow us to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government. And as always, the second is under attack. Hillary and others say we must reinstate the assault weapons ban because of the drug wars in Mexico. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ACTIVITY SOUTH OF THE BORDER!

First of all, for those of you that think you know what an "assault weapon" is, let me make sure you are correct.

Many folks are under the impression that they are the fully automatic rifles you see on TV and the movies. This is the impression the people who want to ban firearms want you to have. In reality, the weapons they are hell bent on banning are the semi-automatic rifles in the same calibers as hunting and sporting rifles. But maybe they have a folding or expandable stock, a thumb hole in the stock or a flash suppressor. In other words, cosmetics!

Automatic rifles have been highly regulated for decades. You can own them in many states, but you must obtain a Class three firearms license from the ATF. This involves a very extensive background check that takes about a year to complete, and it is costly. The number of automatics available is limited.

So who is going to purchase one of these to sell to a drug cartel? The answer....NO ONE!

The cartels reportedly have grenades, grenade launchers, and automatic weapons. These re only available to the military. So if they all come from the USA as Hillary says, then they must have been sold to the Mexican government with permission from our government! So how did the criminals/terrorist/drug cartels get them? Can you say corruption?

We must no longer allow our great county to be the whipping boy for every one's problems...IT'S NOT OUR FAULT!! Our politicians and mainstream media love to beat up America and it must stop!

Hillary says the drug problem is the U.S. is the reason for the violence. More on that in a future post.
